MSSP KPMG Acquires Canadian Cybersecurity Services, Testing Firm Egyde

Share

KPMG, a Top 100 MSSP for 2017, has acquired Canadian continuous security testing and cybersecurity services firm Egyde for an undisclosed sum. The Egyde acquisition comes after KPMG purchased the identity and access management (IAM) business of Cyberinc in January. The company also snapped up a Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner a few days ago.

Egyde has been rebranded as KPMG Egyde following the acquisition, according to a prepared statement. Furthermore, Egyde's employees have joined KPMG and will continue to work out of their current offices in Quebec City and Montreal.

The acquisition ultimately enables both KPMG and Egyde to help their respective customers address cyber risks like never before.

Egyde's offerings complement KPMG's existing cybersecurity portfolio, KPMG Technology Risk Consulting Leader Francis Beaudoin pointed out. As such, the Egyde acquisition enables KPMG to strengthen its cybersecurity offerings for the companies' combined customers.

Also, Egyde has joined KPMG's national cybersecurity practice, which now includes seven dedicated cyber partners and over 40 staff members. This helps KPMG increase its cybersecurity market presence across Canada, Egyde CEO Guillaume Clément stated.

KPMG Announces IAM Partnerships

KPMG looks ready to bolster its cybersecurity market reach, and the company recently has announced several partnerships that could help the business extend its reach in the IAM solutions market as well.

Last month, KPMG partnered with Okta, an identity management and single sign-on solutions provider. The Okta partnership allows KPMG to provide customers with agile enterprise and consumer IAM solutions that protect critical data and streamline employee and consumer access, according to a prepared statement.

KPMG also announced a partnership with Ping Identity, an identity-defined security software company, in January. KPMG and Ping Identity together planned to provide consumer IAM solutions, the companies indicated.

Meanwhile, KPMG has partnerships with integrated cloud applications and platform services provider Oracle and SailPoint, a company that offers identity governance and cloud identity management software. These partnerships highlight KPMG’s commitment to deliver advanced information protection to enterprises, the company said.
