Milton Security Group Introduces MDR Proof of Value Trial

Milton Security Group, a cybersecurity company that specializes in data analysis, incident response and threat hunting, has unveiled a proof of value (POV) trial of its managed detection and response (MDR) service.

The POV enables organizations to evaluate Milton’s Threat Hunting and MDR service and provides them with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V SOCBOX virtual sensors to collect system and security event logs. It includes the following stages:

  • Day One: An organization signs a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and POV agreement.
  • Week One: The organization receives Milton SOCBOX sensors, and on-boarding of predetermined feeds begins.
  • Week Two: The organization receives live MDR monitoring of its environment, as well as end of shift and end of week status reports.
  • Week Three: The organization continues to receive live MDR monitoring and participates in an end of week status meeting.
  • Week Four: The organization participates in a POV completion meeting; at this point, the POV is reviewed and next stages are evaluated.

In addition, Milton provides a POV at no cost and without obligation, the company said. Upon completion of an initial 15-day trial, organizations can continue to leverage Milton’s MDR service in their environment by signing a year-long contract at a rate of $0.35 per hour or source group.

Managed Detection and Response (MDR): Cybersecurity Market Forecast

Demand for MDR services appears strong and growing. Beyond the 20 MDR companies leading the market, hundreds — perhaps thousands — of MSPs and MSSPs are adding MDR capabilities to their service catalogs. As a result, the line between traditional MSSPs and MDR providers is blurring, according to Gartner.

The MDR market size is expected to reach $1.66 billion by 2022, up from $419.7 million in 2017 — generating a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 31.6 percent during the forecast period, Markets and Markets forecasts.
