CyberProof, a Top 250 MSSP and cybersecurity platform and services provider, has unveiled Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise to deliver threat detection and response across Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Sentinel security solutions.
The partnership surfaces as Microsoft increasingly offers managed security services directly to enterprise customers. Still, Microsoft also has growing relationships with MSSPs as well as security-driven MSPs. Much of the work involves the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), an ecosystem of MSSPs and independent software vendors (ISVs).
Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise combine threat hunting and managed eXtended detection and response (MXDR) capabilities, according to CyberProof. They provide end-users with access to Microsoft security experts to manage threat monitoring and response.
How Do Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise Work?
Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise leverage the CyberProof Defense Center (CDC) platform, which runs on Microsoft Azure and integrates with the Microsoft Security stack, CyberProof said. The CDC platform integrates with Azure and Sentinel to provide end-users with a single interface for threat detection and response activities.
In addition, Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise let users configure Microsoft 365 Defender to protect their applications, endpoints, identities, Office 365 and cloud assets, CyberProof indicated. They also are backed by cybersecurity experts who help organizations migrate from legacy, on-premises security solutions to cloud-native security and provide users with threat intelligence, vulnerability management and other end-to-end security services.
MSSP Optiv Provides MXDR for Cloud Platforms
Meanwhile, multiple MSSPs and MDR companies are introducing managed XDR services. For instance,
Optiv Security in June 2022 introduced an MXDR security service across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure. In doing so, organizations can use Optiv MXDR to secure applications, data and systems across public and multi-cloud environments, the company stated.
Expect the demand for MDR and MXDR services to increase soon, too.
Approximately 50 percent of organizations will be using MDR services for threat monitoring, detection, and response functions that offer threat containment and mitigation capabilities by 2025, Gartner has predicted. As such, more MSSPs may look to integrate MDR and MXDR capabilities into their offerings.
