Accenture Completes Symantec MSSP, SOC Acquisition From Broadcom

Credit: Accenture

Accenture has completed its acquisition of the Symantec Cyber Security Services business from Broadcom. The deal, which includes Symantec's MSSP and SOC (security operations center) organizations, was announced in January 2020.

The acquired assets, including roughly 300 employees, will tuck into Accenture Security -- a perennial Top 200 MSSP. Broadcom, meanwhile, continues to own the Symantec enterprise security software business.

The buyout was M&A Deal Number 9 that MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E covered in 2020. That M&A deal list has now grown to nearly 200 companies from January through April 2020. Also, here's a list of MSSP merger and acquisition deals to note.

Accenture Acquisitions: Focus And Spending Areas

Accenture has been active on the cybersecurity M&A front.

The company earlier this month also acquired Revolutionary Security. Earlier purchases include Context Information Security, Deja Vu Security, iDefenseMaglanRedcoreArismore and FusionX.

Looking ahead, Accenture is prepared to spend up to $1.6 billion on acquisitions in its fiscal year 2020, CFO KC McClure told Wall Street analysts during an earnings call in March 2020. And it sounds like an M&A strategy will remain in place amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Here's a complete list of Accenture acquisitions since January 2019.
