Acronis Bolsters Defense Against Fileless Attacks Using Intel Threat Detection Technology
Acronis has delivered an enhancement of its security defense against advanced fileless attacks using Intel Threat Detection Technology (Intel TDT), the company announced in a prepared statement.
With cyber threats evolving and growing on a daily basis, Acronis researchers report that they have witnessed new types of malware and attack vectors on enterprises, such as polymorphic malware and fileless attacks. A polymorphic virus, sometimes referred to as a metamorphic virus, is a type of malware that is programmed to repeatedly mutate its appearance or signature files through new decryption routines.
Inside Acronis’ Solution
Acronis explains that many threats use an in-memory-only approach, which can be hard to detect. Intel TDT technology allows Acronis cyber protection solutions to free resources while scanning hard disk drive and memory, resulting in improved system performance.
Acronis researchers found that while scanning all the processes in system memory on supported CPUs, Intel TDT reduced the load on the CPU 2.4 times by offloading the job to the Intel integrated GPU.
Acronis’ solution combines complete, single-agent cyber protection with Intel TDT. Accordingly, this enhancement results in lower CPU utilization and allows for more computing capacity for productivity and office software used by Acronis end customers.
The innovation of Intel TDT will be available through Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, Acronis Cyber Protect, and Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office solutions.

Acronis Integrates with RackNap
RackNap recently announced an integration with Acronis to help MSSPs deliver data backup and recovery (BDR), file sync and share and anti-malware and anti-ransomware protection. With the integration, RackNap’s MSSP partners can offer Acronis‘ cyber protection solutions through the RackNap platform.
The RackNap integration comes after Acronis in March 2023 opened a new Cyber Cloud data center in Toronto, Canada. This data center further expands Acronis’ global network of more than 50 data centers. It provides MSSPs, MSPs and other Acronis partners with access to its cyber protection solutions so they can offer new services and secure their customers’ data, the company said.
Previously, Acronis in November 2022 released Acronis Advanced Security + EDR for Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, an endpoint detection and response (EDR) platform for MSPs. The platform lets MSPs investigate, remediate, recover and close security gaps across the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud solution. It also offers machine learning-based event correlation and interpretation with attack chain visibility.
Acronis supports more than 16,000 service providers globally and provides them with 50-plus technology integrations. It also offers the #CyberFit Partner Program, which allows MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers to use its solutions to develop and launch new cyber protection services.
