ADT will leverage SonicWall technology to deliver a managed cybersecurity solution to SMBs, the companies said. The ADT-SonicWall SMB joint solution offers the following security capabilities:

  • Network security via SonicWall TZ series firewalls.
  • Secure email via SonicWall Hosted Email Security.
  • Encrypted traffic protection via SonicWall DPI-SSL technology.
  • Management of routine patching, software updates and firmware upgrades via ADT.
  • Optional SonicWall Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) with patent-pending Real-Time Deep Memory Inspection technology.
  • Round-the-clock support from ADT.

ADT and SonicWall also will provide managed Internet security services via coordinated marketing and sales initiatives.

What Does the SMB Joint Solution Mean for ADT and SonicWall?

The joint solution enables ADT and SonicWall to provide end-to-end protection to SMBs, the companies noted. That way, ADT and SonicWall can help SMBs guard against cyberattacks.

In addition, the joint solution allows ADT and SonicWall to extend their reach in the SMB market. The solution also could help both companies capitalize on the rising demand for remotely managed security services among SMBs.

SMBs spend approximately $11 billion on remotely managed security services, according to industry analyst AMI-Partners. Meanwhile, global remotely managed security services market revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14 percent between 2017 and 2021, and SMBs could drive this sector's growth.

SonicWall: MSSP, MSP Partner Initiatives

SonicWall has been a channel-first business ever since spinning off from Dell in 2016. CEO Bill Conner has focused the cybersecurity company on SonicWall’s Capture Cloud Platform — which integrates security, management, analytics and real-time threat intelligence across SonicWall’s network, email, mobile and cloud security products.

Among the more recent moves: SonicWall Senior VP of Strategic Sales Robert VanKirk stepped up into the chief revenue officer (CRO) position in early 2019. The transition came as SonicWall expanded its global sales team and increase its marketing investments in partners.
