Endpoint Security: Dell Doubles Down On VMware Carbon Black, Secureworks

Dell Technologies has integrated the VMware Carbon Black Cloud endpoint protection platform into its security portfolio, according to a prepared statement. The news comes after VMware acquired Carbon Black in August for $1.9 billion.

Dell now offers an endpoint security solution that leverages VMware threat prevention capabilities, the company said. The endpoint security solution also features threat detection and response capabilities from Secureworks, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019.

A Closer Look at Dell’s Endpoint Security Solution

Dell’s endpoint security solution identifies the presence of compromises and threat actors operating in corporate networks, the company said. It uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to help organizations detect and stop cyberattacks, and in the event of an active breach, organizations receive management and assistance to help them contain and eliminate threats and prevent them from recurring.

In addition, Dell’s endpoint security solution enables security teams to access insights and analytics to validate and remediate cyber threats, the company indicated. It also features a managed service that provides access to security experts who monitor and manage customer environments and offer threat remediation guidance.

What Does the Endpoint Security Solution Mean for Dell?

The endpoint security solution could help Dell capitalize on the rising demand for endpoint protection offerings worldwide.

Global endpoint security market revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 8.6 percent between 2019 and 2026, according to industry analyst Fortune Business Insights. These revenues also could exceed $10 billion by 2026.
