DXC Technology, a Top 100 MSSP for 2017, has launched Applications Security on Demand -- a consumption-based applications security testing service. The offering is powered by Micro Focus Fortify on Demand -- which suggests the offering may have been under development before HP Enterprise sold certain assets to both DXC and Micro Focus.

DXC is now the first global Fortify on Demand managed service provider, the company claims. The new offering supports three core capabilities:

  • Static Security Testing: Static assessments provide security scanning, auditing and reporting on a variety of programming. Using industry-leading tools, source code analysis of applications is completed with expert validation and reporting, DXC says.
  • Dynamic Security Testing: Dynamic assessments provide security scanning, auditing and reporting for any web-based application in an active environment, DXC adds.
  • Mobile Security: Mobile assessments provide security scanning, auditing and reporting on all business applications for iOS and Android devices, DXC concludes.

Applications Security: Consumption Model

The service is available in a cloud consumption-based model, according to Mike Klaus, senior VP and general manager, Application Services, DXC Technology. The offering is part of a broader application security portfolio that helps clients to "predict attacks, proactively respond to threats, ensure compliance, and protect data and applications," according to Chris Moyer, VP and general manager, Security Services, DXC Technology.

Created by the merger of CSC and HPE's former enterprise services business, DXC Technology serves nearly 6,000 private and public sector clients across 70 countries, the company says.
