The SCE Group, a New Jersey-based identity and access solutions company, has acquired MSSP Cayden Security for an undisclosed sum. Together, SCE and Cayden will create a cybersecurity assurance firm, according to a prepared statement.

In addition, Cayden President Joe Compagno will join SCE as the company's chief operating officer.

What Does the Cayden Acquisition Mean for SCE and Its Customers?

The Cayden transaction enables SCE to expand into new markets, the company said. SCE now offers a wide range of cybersecurity offerings, the company noted, and is better equipped than ever before to execute service and support engagements and improve its customer satisfaction levels.

SCE provides enterprise support services, secure remote access, identity protection and verification and other cybersecurity offerings. With the Cayden acquisition, SCE could further enhance its SCE 360° Sentinel managed security offering.

SCE 360° Sentinel is a subscription-based offering that provides management and support of an organization's identity and access infrastructure, the company said. It includes on-demand operational support services, SCE noted, and helps organizations protect critical business data and systems.

Cayden: Here's What You Need to Know

Cayden specializes in vendor risk managed services (VRMS) designed to help organizations understand the dangers associated with third-party vendors. A Cayden VRMS subscription provides a single annual assessment, and the MSSP's software and dashboards enable organizations to monitor third-party vendors.

VRMS collects evidence and performs assessments of each third-party vendor, according to Cayden. It ranks vendors, provides a vendor assessment dashboard and delivers vendor assessment reports that include findings and mitigation recommendations.

Furthermore, Cayden offers Prevalent Security Vendor Threat Monitor (PVTM), which provides data about a vendor's threat environment, regulatory issues, corporate brand events and assorted security problems. PVTM enables organizations to monitor vendor threat intelligence at all times, Cayden said, and delivers real-time third-party risk profiles.

Cayden also offers cybersecurity, IT risk management and compliance solutions. The MSSP provides a combination of cybersecurity products and consulting and turnkey managed security services to help organizations address cybersecurity, IT risk management and compliance issues.
