Red Canary, a Top 250 MSSP and Top 40 MDR (managed detection and response) provider, has joined the Palo Alto Networks Cortex MSSP partner program. In doing so, Red Canary will help Palo Alto Networks deliver multiple layers of security across its cybersecurity solutions, CTO Chris Rothe said.

As a Cortex MSSP partner, Red Canary will incorporate its MDR capabilities into Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex XDR (eXtended detection and response) product, the company stated. It also will develop integrations for Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma Cloud, Threat Prevention and WildFire Analysis Environment offerings.

Reducing False Positive Alerts

In addition, Red Canary is working toward being able to ingest raw telemetry and alerts from the Cortex XDR endpoint agent, the company said. That way, Red Canary and Palo Alto Networks together can help organizations reduce false-positive alerts by up to 99%.

Red Canary MDR currently supports Palo Alto Networks firewalls by integrating with PAN-OS version 9 and higher, the company said. This integration allows organizations to use the Red Canary MDR platform to investigate and respond to security alerts and event data generated by Palo Alto Networks firewall appliances.

A Closer Look at Red Canary and Palo Alto Networks

Red Canary offers an MDR platform that helps organizations secure their endpoints, cloud workloads, networks, identities and SaaS apps. In February 2022, it launched a partner program that allows MSSPs and MSPs to integrate its MDR capabilities into their offerings. Along with Palo Alto Networks, Red Canary also has partnered with SentinelOne and other cybersecurity companies.

Palo Alto Networks delivers cybersecurity solutions to more than 85,000 customers globally. It offers the NextWave Partner Program, which enables MSSPs and MSPs to resell these solutions. Meanwhile, Palo Alto Networks recorded $1.4 billion in total revenue in the third quarter of fiscal 2022 and continues to explore opportunities to extend its channel market reach.
