Huntress has launched new managed endpoint detection and response (EDR) capabilities designed to help its MSP and MSSP partners and customers stop cyberattacks in near real-time.
The managed security platform for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) has introduced EDR capabilities as part of a new managed security feature called Process Insights, which continuously monitors activity from the thousands of applications that run on laptops and servers every day, Huntress explained in a prepared statement.
End-to-End Protection Platform
In support of Process Insights, Huntress deploys it's "ThreatOps experts" to review all suspicious cyber activity. These experts, says Huntress, can validate threats, remove false positives and determine what remediation steps are needed, making it easy for even non-security teams to swiftly respond to cyber incidents.
Huntress CEO Kyle Hanslovan explained the evolution for Process Insights:
“The first iterations of the Huntress platform focused on eliminating threats that had slipped past preventive tools, like persistent malware or ransomware. Over the last 18 months, we’ve extended left of boom with external port monitoring, a robust managed antivirus offering, host isolation functionality and much more. These new EDR capabilities are the next step forward in delivering an end-to-end platform that helps protect businesses at every stage of the modern attack lifecycle.”
Process Insights: Battle Tested
Huntress touts the success of Process Insights in discovering North Korean threat actors targeting a Nuclear Think Tank. Process Insights was also battle-tested in combating a surge of Cobalt Strike payloads delivered to vulnerable VMware Horizon servers.
Process Insights can also help businesses navigate cyber insurance and liability conversations. Huntress reports that it's designed Process Insights around the core set of EDR capabilities insurance carriers are looking for — helping businesses mitigate risk while receiving the financial support they need during a security incident.

Huntress notes that it acquired the technology powering Process Insights from San Antonio-based startup Level Effect in 2021. Recently, Huntress launched its Neighborhood Watch Program, and acquired security awareness training company Curricula in July 2022, as reported by MSSP Alert.
