UK MSSP Performanta Acquires Microsoft IAM Company Identity Experts

Performanta, a UK-based MSSP backed by Beech Tree Private Equity, has acquired Microsoft Gold Security Partner and identity and access management (IAM) company Identity Experts for an undisclosed sum. Identity Experts -- including founders Paul Green and Matt Brunton -- will tuck into Performanta Group.

This is technology M&A deal number 241 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E covered so far in 2021. See all technology M&A deals for 2021 and 2020 listed here.

The Identity Experts acquisition allows Performanta to extend its security capabilities across the Microsoft portfolio, the company said. It represents Performanta's first strategic acquisition after the company received financing from British private equity firm Beech Tree Private Equity in March 2021.

A Closer Look at Identity Experts

Identity Experts is "one of Microsoft's key identity and security partners in the UK," Green stated. The company partners with Microsoft and its customers to help them secure their identities.

In addition, Identity Experts offers solutions to help organizations comply with data security mandates and protect their employees against cyberattacks, the company noted. It also empowers organizations to guard against data breaches and cyber fraud.

The Identity Experts acquisition enhances Performanta's in-house Microsoft security capabilities, the company said. It strengthens Performanta's ability to protect organizations that use Azure Active Directory, Office 365 and other Microsoft tools.

Furthermore, the Identity Experts acquisition enables Performanta to provide integrated and fully managed services 24/7, Performanta Group CEO Guy Golan said. The acquisition also helps Performanta expand its global cybersecurity market reach.

Performanta MDR and Incident Response Services

Along with Microsoft security offerings, Performanta provides managed detection and response (MDR) and incident response services. The company delivers its security services via two security operations centers (SOCs) to customers in 50 countries.
