Singtel Bets Cybersecurity, MSSP Business on Trustwave Brand

Trustwave, owned by Singtel,  gains a range of cybersecurity and managed services capabilities from the parent company and multiple sister companies.

The reason: Singtel has integrated its own cybersecurity capabilities, technologies and resources and those associated with Optus and NCS into a single global brand operating under Trustwave, a Top 100 MSSP for 2018 and 2017.

Singtel has owned Trustwave since 2015. Now, Trustwave gains all of those additional managed security services, third-party technology solutions and cybersecurity education and training services to help organizations combat external and internal cyber threats, according to a prepared statement.

Trustwave now can harness Singtel’s global cybersecurity business, revenue, capabilities and teams across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific, Singtel indicated. It can access roughly 2,000 Singtel security employees, along with a global network of 10 advanced security operations centers (ASOCs), more than 10,000 managed security services customers and nearly 1,000 channel partners and technology partners.

In addition, Trustwave has combined the training and continued education assets from Singtel’s cybersecurity businesses into a program delivered on-premises and remotely, Singtel stated. Trustwave has created a separate global Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and risk management division to help organizations comply with data security mandates, too.

Furthermore, Trustwave has redesigned its logo and launched a new corporate website as part of the Singtel integration, Singtel noted. Trustwave also will continue to offer both its own technologies and those from third parties.

Trustwave Opens Cybersecurity Command Center

The Singtel integration comes after Trustwave in September opened the SpiderLabs Fusion Center cybersecurity command center in Chicago, Illinois.

Trustwave’s SpiderLabs Fusion Center offers cybersecurity technical analysis, continuous threat hunting, forensic investigations, hybrid cyber range training and real-world threat simulation exercises, the company said. It also is backed by SpiderLabs’ team of ethical hackers, advanced researchers, threat hunters and incident responders who investigate and escalate cyber threats if necessary.

Trustwave offers a variety of managed security services, including:

  • Managed application control.
  • Managed detection and response (MDR) for endpoints.
  • Managed threat detection.
  • Security technology management.
  • Telecommunications security.

Trustwave cloud and managed security services are used by more than 3 million businesses, the company indicated. Also, Trustwave delivers automated threat, vulnerability and compliance management support to customers in 96 countries.
