Verizon MDR Leverages Securonix SIEM Cybersecurity Software

Verizon, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019, has incorporated the Securonix security information and event management (SIEM) solution into its new managed detection and response (MDR) service.

Verizon's MDR combines remote threat monitoring, detection and response capabilities with Securonix's SIEM, the companies said. Also, the combination of Verizon's MDR and Securonix's SIEM provides organizations with advanced analytics, behavior detection, threat modeling and automated incident response capabilities.

Securonix's SIEM is powered by Hadoop and ingests hundreds of terabytes of data per day, the company said. It leverages a built-in connector framework with support for cloud applications and infrastructure, enterprise applications, identity and HR data and non-technical data feeds.

Furthermore, Securonix's SIEM provides real-time enrichment of data with identity, asset, geolocation, threat intelligence and data from lookup tables, the company noted. It also applies machine learning algorithms to event data in real time to help organizations detect cyber threats.

Introducing New Verizon Security Solutions

In addition to its MDR service, Verizon's has unveiled the following security solutions:

  • Verizon Identity (VID): Enables end-users to store their identity credentials in a "digital identity safe" on their mobile devices.
  • Machine State Integrity: Leverages operational data from decentralized machine environments to offer insights into potential compliance and security issues.
  • Rapid Response Retainer: Provides access to Verizon Threat Research Advisory Center threat intelligence summaries, a 24/7 hotline, onsite support and an investigative liaison.

VID and Rapid Response Retainer are now available globally. Meanwhile, MDR is expected to be generally available next month, and Machine State Integrity is expected to be released in the United States in the second quarter of 2020.

Securonix MSSP Partner Program

Securonix launched a global MSSP partner program in June 2019. The program supports:

  • Threat detection and response with machine learning-based behavior analytics.
  • Fully managed software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
  • Flat pricing option.
  • Support for data masking and European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) privacy requirements.

The company's SIEM business grew bookings 150 percent in the first-half of 2018, MSSP Alert reported at the time. We don't have updated figures for 2019 and early 2020.
