WatchGuard Announces New Cloud Management Features for Security MSPs

WatchGuard Technologies has announced new WatchGuard Cloud platform capabilities to help MSPs deliver managed security services, according to a prepared statement.

The new WatchGuard Cloud capabilities include:

  • Risk-Based Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Management: Leverages new AuthPoint risk framework policies to provide MSPs with customizable rules to configure users and devices based on risk level.
  • Updated Network Security Policy Management: Offers one-click security service implementations and pre-configured policies to let MSPs deploy content scanning, network inspection, content filtering and other network security services.
  • Built-in Threat Analysis: WatchGuard's ThreatSync threat detection and response (TDR) service now integrated within the platform to deliver threat intelligence, correlation and scoring across the company's security stack.

The new WatchGuard Cloud capabilities simplify the delivery of managed security services, WatchGuard SVP of Product Management Andrew Young said. In doing so, they lower the barrier for MSPs to enter the managed security services market.

What Is WatchGuard Cloud?

WatchGuard Cloud combines network security, MFA and threat intelligence, the company stated. It leverages WatchGuard's RapidDeploy cloud-based configuration tool to give MSPs a zero-touch method to set up new security environments.

In addition, WatchGuard Cloud offers multi-tenant management capabilities, the company indicated. It lets MSPs create and manage an unlimited number of customer accounts.

MSPs can white-label WatchGuard services, WatchGuard noted. They also can leverage WatchGuard Cloud dashboards and reports to highlight the value of their managed security services to customers and help customers find the best ways to improve their security posture.

WatchGuard Updates Channel Partner Program

Along with announcing its WatchGuard Cloud enhancements, WatchGuard in October unveiled an endpoint security specialization for its WatchGuardONE channel partner program. The specialization lets WatchGuardONE partners sell Panda Security endpoint security solutions; WatchGuard previously acquired Panda in March.

WatchGuard delivers network security, secure Wi-Fi, MFA, endpoint protection and network intelligence solutions. The company partners with 18,000 security resellers and service providers to deliver its cybersecurity solutions to more than 250,000 customers around the world.
