MSSP Funding: Expel Raises $40 Million for Threat Monitoring, Hunting
Expel will use the Series C financing to drive innovation, fund its sales and marketing programs and expand its cloud offerings, the company stated. The funding also brings Expel’s total financing to date to $67.5 million.
Expel offers a variety of managed security services, including:
- Threat Monitoring: Tracks activities across an organization’s IT environment to identify cyber threats.
- Threat Investigation and Response: Identifies cyber threats and notifies an organization if it detects a cyberattack.
- Threat Hunting: Searches for cyber threats before they escalate.
Expel also provides a security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) solution that provides organizations with access to security analysts who detect and analyze cyber threats.
Endgame, Expel Announce Partnership
Expel’s Series C funding comes after the company last year partnered with endpoint protection platform provider Endgame to launch managed detection and response (MDR) services. The Expel-Endgame MDR services protect organizations against exploits, malware, fileless attacks and ransomware.
Expel specializes in “transparent managed security,” according to the company. It allows organizations to use their current security products in conjunction with its managed security services and SOCaaS to identify and address cyberattacks.
