Sealing Technologies Strikes $168.5 Million Cyber Defense Contract with the U.S. Marine Corps
The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) has enlisted Sealing Technologies Inc. (SealingTech), a veteran owned small business (VOSB), to build a holistic cyber solution for its Defensive Cyber Weapons System (DCWS).
Under a $168.5 million contract in support of the USMC Cyber Protection teams, SealingTech’s solution will deploy fly away kits and a suit of tools to analyze vulnerabilities, map key cyber terrain and respond to incidents, the Columbia, Maryland-based company said in a prepared statement.
Mission-Critical Cyber Defense
In addition to its support to the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force cyber teams, SealingTech is providing the USMC with a standard defensive cyber operating platform in preparation for a Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture.
Ed Sealing, founder and CEO of SealingTech, expressed his enthusiasm for the mission ahead:
“The DCWS system is an important enabler of cyberspace maneuver across the Department of Defense’s key terrain. We are both humbled and excited that the USMC has trusted SealingTech with this critical mission, and we are hitting the ground running to ensure its success.”
SealingTech Builds Department of Defense Business
In April 2022, United States Cyber Command awarded SealingTech a Production Other Transaction Agreement (P-OT) after the company successfully completed a competitive prototype project for a “hunt-forward” solution for the Cyber National Mission Force. This agreement is valued at more than $59 million and has a base award of three years.
In June 2022, SealingTech added new leadership and realigned its executive staff:
- Brandon Whalen was appointed mission director for Security-Enhanced Information Sharing (SIEM). Whalen was the founder and CEO of Quark Security, which became part of SealingTech at the close of 2019.
- Jennifer Jenkins was promoted to mission director for Secure Enterprise Modernization (SEM). In addition to her role leading SealingTech’s Enterprise Modernization Center in the Eastern U.S, she guides the team supporting scaling and modernizing government networks and operations.
