Carbon Black Extends Endpoint Security to Japan

Carbon Black now offers the Cb Predictive Security Cloud (PSC) endpoint protection platform in Japan, according to a prepared statement. The announcement comes after Carbon Black opened an office in Tokyo, Japan last year.

In addition, Carbon Black has unveiled a Japanese user group hosted by CEO Patrick Morley. The user group will include a community of cybersecurity professionals that focuses on expanding the global security talent pool, identifying cyberattack trends and developing best practices for adopting and implementing security technologies, Carbon Black indicated.

Carbon Black's Japanese expansion could help the company accelerate its revenue growth following a profitable third quarter of 2018.

Some of Carbon Black's 3Q18 financial results included:

  • Total revenue of $53.4 million, up 29 percent year over year.
  • Total recurring revenue of $49.3 million, up 34 percent year over year.
  • Total cloud revenue of $16.1 million, up 126 percent year over year.

Carbon Black concluded 3Q18 with 4,625 total customers, up from 3,335 one year earlier. It also reported 2,450 cloud customers in 3Q18, compared to 1,170 in 3Q17.

Furthermore, Carbon Black has projected its total 4Q18 revenue will fall between $55.3 million and $55.8 million and its full-year 2018 revenue will fall between $208.1 million and $208.6 million.

Asia-Pacific Cybersecurity Market Expected to Grow

Carbon Black looks poised to capitalize on a rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific cybersecurity market, too.

The Asia-Pacific cybersecurity market accounted for over 19 percent of the global cybersecurity market share in 2015 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.2 percent between 2016 and 2024, according to industry analyst Grand View Research. New data protection regulations are expected to drive the demand for endpoint security solutions across the region.
