Toshiba Industrial ICT Solutions Company has agreed to distribute CylancePROTECT, an antivirus solution that leverages (artificial intelligence) to prevent the execution of malware at endpoints. The distribution deal covers Japan.
As part of a test launch, Toshiba earlier this month installed CylancePROTECT on approximately 5,500 endpoints. The deployment uses machine learning techniques to eliminate bots, malware, viruses and other unknown variants.
After the successful test, Toshiba has agreed to sell CylancePROTECT in conjunction with related design, integration and operation services, said Yoshikazu Ikito, general manager of Toshiba's product and service marketing division.
Cylance Expands Executive Team
The distribution deal is part of Cylance's continued expansion worldwide. At the same time, the company has expanded its executive ranks and product portfolio.
Cylance recentlyappointed Rahul Kashyap as its chief product officer and John Giacomini as its executive vice president of global sales (pictured), according to a company statement.
Kashyap previously served as executive vice president of products at virtualization technology company Bromium and led worldwide threat research at McAfee Labs. Meanwhile, Giacomini most recently served as executive vice president of worldwide sales at computer security software provider Forcepoint (formerly Websense).
Together, Kashyap and Giacomini are expected to help Cylance accelerate its global AI strategy, Cylance aserts.
Introducing CylanceOPTICS
Meanwhile on the product front, Cylance recently unveiled CylanceOPTICS, an AI-driven endpoint detection and response (EDR) product.
With CylanceOPTICS, organizations can simplify threat hunting and attack analysis without requiring cloud connectivity, according to Cylance.
CylanceOPTICS's features include:
- Endpoint visibility and AI-assisted threat hunting.
- Integrated incident response.
- Root cause analysis.
CylanceOPTICS produces specialized machine learning models to help organizations investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, Cylance said in a company statement.
The EDR product also leverages AI to change the operating model of endpoint security, Cylance CEO Stuart McClure indicated in a prepared statement.
CylanceOPTICS is now available worldwide through authorized Cylance channel partners.
