Claranet Launches Cybersecurity Unit

Claranet, a UK-based managed service provider (MSP), has launched a global Cyber Security unit that provides managed security services, penetration training and security training.

The Cyber Security unit includes security offerings from both ethical hacking training and penetration testing company NotSoSecure and SEC-1, an Internet security provider. Claranet acquired NotSoSecure in July and added SEC-1 to its cybersecurity portfolio last year.

  • Founded in 2015, NotSoSecure provides penetration testing for networks and web and mobile applications. It also offers hacking training classes and lab-based lessons.
  • SEC-1 provides network security solutions to public and private sector organizations. The SEC-1 products and services portfolio includes authentication, encryption and intrusion prevention offerings.

What Does the Cyber Security Unit Mean for Claranet?

The Cyber Security unit enables Claranet to provide organizations with seamless access to its cybersecurity offerings, according to the company. It also could help the company capitalize on the rising demand for managed security services globally.

Global managed security services market revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14 percent between 2016 and 2022, industry analyst Market Research Engine stated. Furthermore, the global managed security services sector could be worth more than $45 billion by 2022.
