Dell, Leveraging Cylance, Unveils Air Gap Version of Enterprise Endpoint Security Suite

Dell

has introduced an air gap version of its enterprise endpoint security suite that provides protection against zero-day threats, malware and insider threats in highly secure environments.

The air gap version of the Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise solution leverages Cylance artificial intelligence (AI) and predictive mathematical models to help safeguard enterprises against advanced persistent threats (APT) and malware, according to Dell.

The new version of Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise ensures enterprises can use an advanced threat protection solution in three modes:

  • Original: Client uses an internet connection for cloud communication on threat data.
  • On-Premises Network: Client connects to an on-premises server.
  • Air Gap: Client uses an on-premises security solution without an internet connection.

In addition, Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise includes file-level data encryption, Dell said, and empowers IT to enforce encryption policies for multiple endpoints and operating systems without disrupting end user productivity.

Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise is available for both Dell commercial PCs and as a security solution designed for use across IT environments.

Dell-Cylance Investment, Technology Partnership

Rahul Kashyap

Dell and Cylance have a longstanding business relationship. Dell Technologies Capital, formerly Dell Ventures, participated in Cylance's $42 million Series C financing round in July 2015. Since that time, Dell has integrated Cylance technology into its data security solutions.

Today, the Dell-Cylance partnership ensures Cylance can offer an advanced threat protection in an air gap mode to safeguard enterprises against cyber threats and reduce the burden on IT, Cylance Chief Product Officer Rahul Kashyap said in a prepared statement.

The partnership also ensures highly regulated organizations can deploy Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise to protect their highly sensitive data in both on-premises and air gap environments, said Brett Hansen, Dell's vice president of endpoint data security and management.
