7. Cyber Insurance - India: SBI General Insurance (SBIG), a general insurance company in India, has launched Cyber Defense Insurance for small and midsize businesses. An enterprise push may also surface soon. The current offering includes CyRUSS (Cyber Risk Underwriting & Solution Suite) – a cloud-based tool for Commercial Cyber polices including risk assessment, ongoing risk management and claim management, the company says.

6. US-Japan Cyber Alliance: Japan and the United States agreed on April 19, 2019, agreed that Washington’s commitment to defend Tokyo under the bilateral security treaty extends to cyberattacks, making it the first such affirmation between the two allies, South China Morning Post reports.

5. Malware Hits Augusta, Maine: Malware that froze the entire city computer network in Augusta, Maine, on April 18 has been removed from the system. However, it may take a few more days to restore all of the city's systems, according to CentralMaine.com.

4. Hacker Pleads Guilty: Hacking 'hero' Marcus Hutchins, credited for halting the WannaCry malware attack, has pleaded guilty to U.S. malware charges, BBC reports.

3. Mexico Hack: A hacker stole thousands of documents from Mexico’s embassy in Guatemala and posted them online, TechCrunch reports.

2. NIST - Mobile Security Guidance: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) updated its Vetting the Security of Mobile Applications guidance document with a new revision, MeriTalk notes.
