Microsoft (MSFT) continues to bolster its cybersecurity tools for Windows 10, which remains a major target for ransomware and malware attacks.
Indeed, Microsoft has extended the reach of Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection to include:
- Windows Defender Antivirus.
- Windows Defender Application Guard.
- Windows Defender Device Guard.
- Windows Defender Exploit Guard.
- Windows Server OS.
Moreover, enterprises can leverage the Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) with Windows Defender Exploit Guard, which makes EMET native to Windows 10, Microsoft stated.
"By integrating the power of EMET along with new vulnerability mitigations, Exploit Guard includes prevention capabilities that help make vulnerabilities dramatically more difficult to exploit," Microsoft noted in a company statement.
Windows Defender ATP boasts threat prevention capabilities provided by cloud intelligence, data science and machine learning. Enterprises, in turn, gain visibility into hacking- and malware-related threats discovered and blocked on enterprise endpoints without the need to install an additional agent.
Service providers, in turn, can gain ATP capabilities via the Intune mobile device management (MDM) platform and System Center Configuration Manager, according to Microsoft.
