Optiv Security Releases ICS Workshop, Ping Identity IAM Solutions

Denver-based MSSP Optiv Security has unveiled two identity and access management (IAM) offerings – the Identity Centric Security (ICS) Workshop and Ping Identity – Netskope Integrated Solution. Optiv is showcasing both IAM solutions at this week's Cloud Identity Summit in Chicago.

The IAM solutions can help organizations plan, build and run successful cybersecurity programs, Optiv said in a prepared statement.

In addition, the IAM solutions were developed in conjunction with the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA), a group of security vendors, solution providers and end-user organizations that focuses on establishing industry best practices and standards for identity-centric security programs, according to Optiv.

A Closer Look at the IAM Solutions

The ICS Workshop solution provides intelligence-based authentication and authorization, Optiv stated.

It consists of a multi-day workshop and leverages an integration framework developed by the IDSA to help organizations implement a new approach to security, according to Optiv.

The Ping Identity – Netskope Integrated Solution offers a combination of strategic consulting, proprietary software and implementation services to enable context-based authentication and access policy enforcement, Optiv said in a company statement.

This solution blends Netskope intelligence with PingFederate centralized authentication to drive security improvements across an organization, Optiv pointed out.

What Do the Optiv IAM Solutions Mean for Today's Organizations?

The Optiv IAM solutions enable organizations to go beyond traditional IAM programs and integrate existing IAM with other cybersecurity technologies to drive positive outcomes, Optiv Vice President and General Manager of IAM Bryan Wiese said in a prepared statement.

These solutions also empower organizations to maximize the value of their cybersecurity investments and control risk, Wiese indicated.

Optiv Hires Security Talent

Optiv has also been busy recruiting and hiring more cybersecurity talent. The company last week added former leaders from PwC, Symantec, Dell SecureWorks and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to guide its partner solutions and security services teams.

The company hired Anirban (Oni) Chakravartti as its senior vice president of worldwide partner solutions, Michael Lines as its vice president of strategy, risk and compliance advisory services and Doug Steelman as its vice president of managed security services (MSS).

Chakravartti most recently served as global head of strategic partners at Symantec. He has held various sales leadership, marketing and business development roles at Cisco, AMD and HP/Compaq.

Lines joined Optiv after working as global chief information security officer at PwC. He possesses more than 40 years of security and technology industry experience, Optiv said in a prepared statement.

Steelman will oversee Optiv's MSS organization, operations and delivery, according to Optiv. Prior to joining Optiv, Steelman spent five years as chief security officer at Dell SecureWorks and served as the cyber command director of the DoD's dynamic network defense operations.
