RSA Conference 2019 and MSSP Cybersecurity News: 05 March 2019

But this week, we’re blogging live from RSA Conference 2019 in San Francisco. Several of the updates below surfaced at the massive security event. Here’s the daily business update for Tuesday, March 5, 2019. 36. New Cyber SuiteZix Corp., which specializes in email security and recently acquired AppRiver, has launched ZixSuite, a cloud-based business communications security and compliance solution. The suite combines advanced threat protection, business email continuity, email encryption, email DLP and unified archiving, all managed from a centralized interface. The suite is designed to simplify security and regulatory compliance for SMB customers. It brings together ZixProtect, ZixEncrypt and ZixArchive. 35. China Hackers Target U.S. Universities: Chinese hackers have targeted more than two dozen universities in the U.S. and around the globe as part of an elaborate scheme to steal research about maritime technology being developed for military use, according to iDefense, a cybersecurity intelligence unit of Accenture Security, The Wall Street Journal reports. 34. Cyber Insurance: Cytegic Inc. and Phoenix Insurance Company LTD are partnering to to make cyber insurance accessible and relevant for small and midsize enterprises -- and not just large corporations, the two companies assert. 33. VMware Launches Internal Firewall: The virtualization giant has launched the VMware Service-defined Firewall, which offers internal firewalling capabilities. The software leverages VMware NSX and VMware AppDefense technologies, providing application visibility with intelligent, automated and adaptive firewalling capabilities to protect apps, data and users, VMware claims. 32. Endpoint Protection: SparkCognition, a global artificial intelligence (AI) company, this month plans to launch version 2.0 of its next-generation endpoint protection platform and SDK, DeepArmor. 31. Network Detection and Response: LogRhythm has released LogRhythm NDR, an automated network security solution for detecting, qualifying, investigating and responding to advanced network-borne threats. The software transforms every protected endpoint into a network detection device capable of identifying and controlling every IoT and connected device on a network, the company claims. 29. Hybrid Security: Marvell has announced a LiquidSecurity Network Hardware Security Module (HSM) for the enterprise data center and private cloud services. It already supports Amazon CloudHSM, Google Cloud Platform Cloud HSM and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Key Management. 28. Cloud Security: vArmour, an API-focused cloud security company, has released its Conform technology for Microsoft Azure environments, providing security operators with common and consistent security and compliance management and controls across cloud platforms, the company says. 27.  Cloud Support: Ionic Security now supports Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. The platform already supports Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Storage Service (S3) and  Google Cloud Platform's (GCP) Google Cloud Storage (GCS). 26. AWS Security: CyberArk has launched CyberArk Privileged Access Security Solution v10.8. It automates the detection, alerting and response for unmanaged and potentially-risky Amazon Web Services (AWS) accounts, CyberArk claims. 25. Network Security: Untangle has introduced a Network Security Framework -- which provides IT teams with the ability to ensure protection, monitoring and control for all devices, applications, and events, the company claims. The net result: Customers can enforce a consistent security posture across the entire digital attack surface, Untangle asserts. The framework spans Untangle's NG Firewall, Command Center, Micro Firewall and SD-WAN Router offerings. 24. Service Identity Management: Scytale has launched Scytale Enterprise, a cloud-based subscription offering that enables enterprise IT security engineering teams to standardize and accelerate service authentication across cloud, container, and on-premise infrastructure, the company claims. 23. Log Management: Humio says users can now test and observe how well their systems and security controls work, in real-time, by bringing observability to chaos engineering. Confused? More details are here. 22. Identity Management & Authentication: Armor Scientific, a cybersecurity company "purpose built to manage the identity of everything,: has emerged from stealth mode. The company's Armor Platform is a converged hardware token and patent-pending middleware suite. It combines GPS, biometric hardware, and patent-pending cryptographic and blockchain-enabled middleware. The result: Authentication is "as easy as walking into a room," the company claims. 21. Identity Management: Unisys Stealth(identity) is now available. The biometric identity management software supports fingerprint, face, voice and iris recognition as well as behavioral biometrics. Also, version 4.0 of  the Unisys Stealth security software suite is set for release on April 15. It will allow customers to isolate devices or users at the first sign of compromise, Unisys asserts. Government Cybersecurity - Encryption: General Dynamics Mission Systems will leverage  Bitglass as a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB). The OEM relationship offers encryption capabilities to government organizations. 19. Government Cybersecurity - Research Part One: Tenable's findings are here. 18. Government Cybersecurity - Research Part Two: SolarWinds has released its fifth Federal Cybersecurity Survey results and associated findings. Fifty six percent of respondents believe careless untrained insiders are a significant source of IT security threats in their agencies, while 52 percent of respondents pointed to foreign governments as primary threats. 17. Talent On Demand: FireEye's Expertise On Demand is now available globally, enabling organizations to augment their security teams with FireEye’s Mandiant frontline experts, threat intelligence and associated services. 15. Blockchain Security Testing: The IBM X-Force Red security team has launched a blockchain testing service to help identify weaknesses and strengthen security in that fast-emerging sector. 14. Partner Program - Endpoint Protection: Ziften, a provider of endpoint protection plus visibility and hardening solutions, claims to have growing partner momentum with resellers, MSSPs and OEMs. Overall, the company's monthly sales velocity has increased 130 percent since August 2018. Still, actual revenue figures, profits and partner-generated revenues were not disclosed. 13. Partner Program - Email Security: Agari, provider of secure email cloud technology, has seen grown its engaged reseller base by 25 percent in the past three months --  fueled by new resellers in Europe and the Americas, the company says. Actual financial and reseller figures were not disclosed. Agari this year plans to launch a redesigned Partner Portal and a new deal registration process, the company added. 12. Partnership - Channel CSP & MSSP: Green Cloud Technologies, a cloud technology solutions provider that only sells through the channel, has partnered with Infogressive, a Top 100 MSSP. The partnership blends Infogressive’s cybersecurity intelligence with Green Cloud’s IT solutions to detect and prevent cyber threats and provide a cohesive set of security capabilities, the companies assert. 11. Partnership - Data Protection: Spirion and Bitglass are partnering to "extend the power of data classification to any cloud application and any device." The result: Customers can protect data across all cloud applications and devices, the two companies claim. Anti-Phishing: Ericom Software's remote browser isolation solution, called Ericom Shield, now provides intelligent protection from phishing. The security technology leverages algorithms, URL filtering capabilities and smart business logic to eradicate phishing, BECs, and other social engineering attacks, Ericom asserts. 9. Anti-Phishing & Security Awareness Training: Starting early April, Webroot Security Awareness Training will allow administrators to launch global campaigns across one or all clients in a single click, the company says. The upgrade will feature Client Breach Reports, updated course content, a new phishing lure page framework and integration with the Webroot Global Site Manager console for streamlined management across multiple users, clients, and sites, the company says. 8. Funding - Security & Compliance: RackTop Systems, which blends data storage with advanced security and compliance into a single platform, has raised $15 million in Series A funding. The financing was led by Razor’s Edge Ventures and Grotech Ventures with participation from Maryland Venture Fund, Blu Venture Investors and Gula Tech Adventures. 7. Funding - MDR: eSentire, a Top 20 provider of managed detection and response (MDR) services and a Top 100 MSSP, has raised an additional $47 million in funding led by majority investor Warburg Pincus and minority investors Georgian Partners and Edison Partners. 6. MSSPs and Systems Integrators: PSA, a consortium of professional systems integrators, has hired Dan Dunkel as managing director of the organizations' Managed Security Service Provider Program. The program helps systems integrators to promote cloud-based cybersecurity services, video management, remote video monitoring and access control solutions. 5. MSP Dashboard - Endpoint Protection: Malwarebytes has launched Malwarebytes OneView, a multi-tenant management console for MSPs. 4. MSSP Dashboard - Threat Intelligence: RANK Software, an AI-based security analytics and threat intelligence platform, has introduced multi-tenant capabilities to help MSSPs and large organizations to  better manage and scale proactive cybersecurity threat hunting. 3.
