Waterfall Security Solutions, a provider of industrial remote monitoring platforms, applications, databases and protocols, has introduced a technology partnership program.
The program was launched with CyberX, a company that specializes in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and industrial network solutions, as its initial partner.
The Waterfall-CyberX partnership is "the first to provide the industrial sector with a multi-layered cybersecurity solution," Waterfall CEO Lior Frenkel (pictured above) said in a prepared statement.
It enables Waterfall and CyberX to deliver an integrated solution that can be shared across the energy, manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, transportation and Industrial IoT vertical markets, Frenkel indicated.
In addition, the technology partnership program is designed to help organizations build a cybersecurity ecosystem for industrial control system (ICS) environments, according to Waterfall.
It includes industrial service providers that have completed Waterfall's certification process, Waterfall stated, and enables organizations to pursue a multi-layered cyber-defense strategy.
A Closer Look at Waterfall and CyberX
Waterfall provides unidirectional security gateway technology that connects industrial control networks to external networks, the internet and cloud services. This technology creates an "impassable, physical barrier," Waterfall indicated, to eliminate the risk of network-propagating malware, remote-control attacks and other external attacks.
CyberX offers a cybersecurity platform for continuous, non-invasive threat monitoring, asset discovery and risk assessment. This platform blends a deep understanding of industrial protocols, CyberX stated, with behavioral analytics and proprietary ICS threat intelligence to help industrial organizations detect and respond to targeted attacks, ransomware and insider threats faster than ever before.
Going forward, Waterfall and CyberX together will address major aspects of all five core functions specified in the NIST Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, which include:
- Detect.
- Identify.
- Protect.
- Respond.
- Recover.
By doing so, Waterfall and CyberX will help organizations align their cybersecurity activities with industry standards and best practices for identifying, assessing and managing cybersecurity risk, according to Waterfall.
