Xeo.ai Promotes IBM MaaS 360 MDM to MSPs
Xeo.ai’s online marketplace for technology service providers now features IBM’s MaaS360 mobile device management (MDM) software. The relationship may allow IBM to reach more MSPs (managed IT service providers) across the United States and Canada.
IBM MaaS360 allows MSPs to offer endpoint management and security, while also helping organizations to comply with various data security mandates. IBM acquired the technology as part of the Fiberlink Communications buyout in 2013.
Although IBM’s overall business has struggled amid the transition from hardware and software to cloud services, products like MaaS360 and focus areas like managed security services have been bright spots for the technology giant.
MaaS360 aligns with adjacent IBM products in areas such as mobile threat detection, cloud access security broker (CASB) and identity and access management (IAM), to address several, related capabilities in a single product, Gartner notes.
Moreover, Watson AI analytics allow customers to identify and triage issues with devices managed by MaaS360, the researcher notes.
UEM: Here’s What MSPs Need to Know
MaaS360 is part of a larger market known as UEM (Unified Endpoint Management). UEM platforms leverage a single console to secure and manage desktop PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets.
The global UEM market is projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.2 percent between 2017 and 2022 and could be worth more than $7 billion by 2022, according to industry analyst MarketsandMarkets.
