Arcserve has released the Unified Data Protection (UDP) version 9.0, a centrally managed backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solution that "future-proofs every data infrastructure with robust protection for every type of workload," according to the company.
What UDP Offers
Key features of UDP 9.0 include:
- Data Protection for Oracle Database (DB) allows organizations to recover terabytes of Oracle pluggable database (PDBs) backed up using Oracle RMAN and restore the entire Oracle PDB to its original location.
- Advanced Restore Options for Microsoft SQI Server Deployments provides DB recovery to any transaction point between two recovery points and runs a consistency check to ensure that data retrieved remains usable.
- Cloud Object Storage: Enables organizations to store deduplicated backups on AWS S3, Wasabi or Google Cloud Storage.
- Choice of On-Premises Private Management or Cloud-Based Console offers organizations the option to use an on-premises private management console or a cloud-based one featuring multi-tenancy and identity management capabilities.
Ultimately, UDP 9.0 represents "takes data resilience to the next level (by) delivering enhanced data protection, performance reliability and management," said Arcserve spokesperson Florian Malecki. In doing so, UDP 9.0 helps its partners capitalize on opportunities across the data protection software market.
The global data protection market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 17% from 2022 to 2029, industry analyst MMR stated. In addition, this sector could be worth over $360 billion by 2029.
Arcserve Bolsters Its SaaS Backup Offering
The UDP 9.0 announcement comes after Arcserve in July 2022 expanded its SaaS Backup offering to "provide simple, secure and scalable data protection for Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce and (Microsoft) Azure Active environments," the company said.
Organizations can use SaaS Backup to protect against data loss and ensure continuous availability, Arcserve noted. SaaS Backup offers immutable backups of cloud data and other SaaS backup capabilities.
