Blumira Releases New Products to Help MSPs Manage Cybersecurity for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses (SMBs)

A new MSP Portal, product enhancements to MSP offerings and an educational “Partner Marketing Kit” are all part of new offerings from Blumira, a cybersecurity provider of automated threat detection and response technology.

These resources will help automate, streamline and further support MSPs as they manage IT and security for their small and mid-sized business (SMB) customer base, Blumira said in a prepared statement. In addition, MSP partners can more effectively manage their customers' environments with greater efficiency and respond to customer requests faster while improving customer satisfaction rates.

Jim Simpson, CEO of Blumira states the case for enhanced services to SMBs and their MSP partners:

"Most SIEMs (Security Information and Event Management) today are built for enterprises with large IT and security teams, with few good options designed with MSPs in mind. SMBs, as well as their MSP partners, are attractive targets for attackers, as they are often less equipped to defend against ransomware and cyberattacks. At Blumira, our partner team, led by Director of Partner Strategy Jeremy Young, is committed to helping customers achieve advanced security defenses with an easy-to-use SIEM platform that combines logging, automated detection, and threat response for better security outcomes."

MSP Portal Streamlines Implementation and Management

Blumira asserts that the new MSP Portal enables service managers and help desk technicians to quickly add and edit customer accounts. It also provides MSPs with a global view of their customers by organization and individual user.

The SIEM platform, says Blumira, incorporates built-for-MSP features and enhancements to help MSPs effectively manage, market and sell security solutions. As such, users can acquire valuable SIEM, detection and response capabilities — with low overhead and management for MSPs and their customers. And new email alerting enhancements allow MSPs to scale their security management and streamline their Professional Services Automation (PSA) ticketing workflow.

Blumira notes that it has also updated its notification email subject lines, enabling MSPs to easily map tickets to their different customers. By parsing the subject line, PSAs can correlate Blumira's findings to the correct customers' service board. This allows them to easily identify and send Priority 1 threats after hours, directly to on-call technicians, for triaging and faster threat response.

Marketing Toolkit for MSPs

Blumira’s Partner Marketing Kit provides tools that MSPs need to get started and add security to their selling portfolio. The kit’s features include:

  • "Selling Blumira: Step-by-Step Guide For MSPs"
  • Customer case studies
  • Blumira partner support and compliance guides
  • Blumira product decks, data sheets, videos, and more

New features and resources are included in any MSP-owned account at no extra charge, Blumira says, adding that this launch is the first release in its MSP-specific product roadmap. Additional features are scheduled for release over the coming months and years.

More About Blumira

Blumira offers a cloud-based security information and event management (SIEM) platform that enables organizations to detect, investigate and respond to indicators of ransomware and other unknown cyber threats.

In June 2022, Blumira released its 2022 State of Detection and Response Report under the backdrop of an increasingly challenging threat landscape, amid ransomware, software supply chain attacks, data breaches, and more. The report is based on 33,911 key findings from a sample including 230 organizations that took place over the course of 2021.

In August 2021, Blumira raised $10.3 million in a Series A funding toward building its MSP partner program, MSSP Alert reported. At the time, Blumira had raised $12.9 million since launching the business.
