Cisco Unveils SASE Offer, Updates SecureX Integrated Security Platform

Cisco Systems now provides organizations with the ability to purchase all core secure access service edge (SASE) product components via a single subscription, according to a prepared statement. The company announced the offer at its Cisco Live 2021 digital networking event.

The offer allows organizations to start using Cisco’s integrated SASE architecture immediately, the company said. It provides organizations with access to a variety of security capabilities, including:

  • Data Loss Prevention: Enables organizations to identify and block sensitive data being transmitted to unwanted destinations, prevent data exfiltration and comply with data security mandates
  • Remote Browser Isolation: Allows end-users to browse websites and protect their devices and networks from browser-based exploits
  • Cloud Malware Detection: Finds and removes malware from cloud-based file storage applications
  • Observability: Uses ThousandEyes Internet and cloud intelligence to provide organizations with visibility and insights into their network activities

Organizations can use Cisco’s SASE to maintain secure access to any application over any network or cloud, the company indicated. As such, Cisco’s SASE can help organizations simplify their security and networking operations.

Cisco Introduces SecureX Automated Workflows

In addition to its SASE announcement, Cisco has unveiled automated workflows for its SecureX integrated security platform.

SecureX automated workflows can help organizations accelerate threat detection and response, the company said. These workflows include SolarWinds supply chain attack, phishing investigations and threat investigations that use intel from the Cisco Talos threat intelligence team.

Meanwhile, SecureX automated workflows can reduce time to detect threats by 95 percent, Cisco stated. They also can speed up time to remediate threats by 85 percent.

Cisco previously upgraded SecureX in October 2020. At this time, Cisco incorporated extended detection and response (XDR), SASE and Zero Trust capabilities into SecureX.
