ActZero MDR Security Service Protects IaaS and SaaS Clouds

Credit: ActZero

ActZero has launched managed detection and response (MDR) security for cloud-based services -- including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Workspace.

The MDR service already supports threat detection and response across endpoints and networks. Additional cloud platform coverage is planned, though specific platform targets and delivery dates were not disclosed. Also, the ActZero did not announce pricing for the new cloud-focused MDR capabilities.

Managed Detection and Response (MDR) Market Size & Growth Forecast

Demand for cloud-focused MDR services should be strong.  The global MDR market is expected to reach $1.9 billion by 2024, which represents a 16.4 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2020, according to Frost and Sullivan.

Still, competition is intensifying in the MDR sector. More than 90 percent of the world's Top 250 MSSPs now offer some form of MDR services, according to MSSP Alert's September 2021 research findings.

Still, it's a safe bet that thousands of MSPs and MSSPs are still searching for MDR services. And ActZero's cloud capabilities surface roughly five months after the company introduced the Summit partner program for MSPs, MSSPs and VARs. That program allows partners to deliver MDR as a white-labeled service.

Furthermore, ActZero’s platform provides access to a virtual CISO (vCISO), the company noted. The vCISO offers insights to help organizations build security policies, frameworks and key performance indicators (KPIs).

ActZero Business History, Funding

The seeds for ActZero’s business were planted in two major moves: Indeed, ActZero acquired Intelligo Networks, a top MDR provider, in 2020 and also raised a $40 million seed round led by Point72 Hyperscale.

Intelligo’s roots extend back to the VAR (valued-added reseller) market in 2005. Over time, Intelligo evolved by developing an MDR Platform and investing in machine learning.

ActZero has 66 employees listed on LinkedIn.
