Ermetic has launched a partner program that may allow MSPs and MSSPs to dive into cloud infrastructure entitlement management (CIEM) and cloud security posture management (CSPM).

The goal: Empower MSPs and MSSPs to detect and remediate customers' risky privileges and resource misconfigurations across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform environments.

The new partner program, known as the Synergia Global Channel Partner Program, allows partners to address:

  • Continuous Cloud Security Risk Assessment and Least Privilege: Lets partners audit and remediate unnecessary, excessive and risky entitlements and infrastructure misconfigurations, assess configurations across cloud environments and audit an organization's compliance with various data security standards and frameworks, Ermetic asserted.
  • Managed Detection and Response (MDR): Enables partners to discover, monitor and manage human and machine identities, assess their policies and permissions for risks and threats and detect security anomalies, Ermetic said.
  • Zero Trust Access for DevOps: Allows partners to use auto-generated Zero Trust access policy recommendations for DevOps across continuous integration and continuous development tools, Ermetic noted.

Ermetic Head of Channel and Alliances Shawn Larsen is leading the effort.

Demand for CIEM and CSPM

Demand for CIEM- and CSPM-type solutions is surging. Among the reasons: 90 percent of organizations are susceptible to security breaches due to cloud misconfigurations, according to the “2021 Cloud Security Report: Cloud Configuration Risks Exposed” from application lifecycle security company Aqua Security.

With those risks in mind, annual CSPM spending will reach $9 billion by 2026, up from $4 billion in 2020, according to Markets and Markets. That’s a 14.4 percent compound annual growth rate.

On a related note, 41 percent of our Top 250 MSSP survey participants already offer CSPM to their end customers, MSSP Alert research found in September 2021.
