Palo Alto Networks has upgraded the cloud workload protection capabilities of its Prisma Cloud cloud-native security platform, according to the company. In doing so, Prisma Cloud users can protect their cloud workloads and applications 24/7, Palo Alto Networks.
The new Prisma Cloud cloud workload protection capabilities include:
- Anti-Malware: Utilizes Palo Alto Networks WildFire intelligence to provide runtime protection and visibility into malicious malware threats
- Auto-Detection and Auto-Protection for Hosts: Automatically detects unprotected virtual machines (VMs) running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and ensures that VMs are always protected
- Compliance: Uses Prisma Cloud Compliance Explorer to ensure organizations can comply with various data security frameworks
- Interactive Dashboard: Provides a consolidated view of an organization's cloud-native application portfolio
Ultimately, the new cloud workload protection capabilities empower organizations to protect applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, Prisma Cloud VP of Product Varun Badhwar stated. They help DevOps teams build and deploy cloud workloads and applications and enable security teams to protect them accordingly.
The new cloud workload protection capabilities are now available in Prisma Cloud Compute Edition, with general availability in Prisma Cloud Enterprise Edition expected in May 2021.
Palo Alto Networks Expands Cybersecurity Consulting Group, Upgrades Channel Partner Program
The Prisma Cloud cloud workload protection enhancements come after Palo Alto Networks in April 2021 added Crypsis security consultants to its Unit 42 threat intelligence and incident response team. Now, the expanded Unit 42 is helping organizations combat complex cyber threats and expects to deliver new proactive cybersecurity services around the world.
Furthermore, Palo Alto Networks in February 2021 launched the NextWave 3.0 channel partner program. The upgraded program provides NextWave partners with access to new specializations incentives, education credits and other enhancements.
Palo Alto Networks delivers cybersecurity solutions to more than 80,000 customers globally. It reported $3.4 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2020 and continues to explore ways to bolster its cybersecurity solutions portfolio.
