Cybereason Places Managed Detection and Response (MDR) App in Hands of MSPs and MSSPs
XDR (eXtended Detection and Response) company Cybereason has released a mobile app that places the power of a security operations center (SOC) at the fingertips of cyber defense professionals, the company asserts.
With the Cybereason Managed Detection and Response (MDR) Mobile App, cyber defenders can further reduce the mean-to-time remediation by suspending an attack’s lateral movement directly from their mobile device, Cybereason explained in a prepared statement.
Understanding the Full Scope of Cyberattacks
Cybereason notes that the MDR Mobile App “empowers security analysts to quickly understand the full scope of attacks in real-time leveraging the patented MalOp (malicious operation) Detection Engine. As such, customers will see detailed intelligence for active MalOps, how they map to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the criticality threat level.
Lior Div, Cybereason CEO and co-founder, explained the impetus for the invention:
“The Cybereason MDR Mobile App is a game changer for defenders, and it was developed in response to their evolving needs. Security analysts face alert fatigue, staffing shortages and more attacks coming during off peak work hours. These burdens demanded a response, and the Cybereason MDR Mobile Appprovides the context needed between alerts and a MalOp and access to our global SOC from anywhere in the world.”
As cybercriminals seek to compromise organizations during off-hours, Cybereason references its recent study, Organizations at Risk: Ransomware Attackers Don’t Take Holiday, which revealed that nearly half of security professionals don’t believe they have the right tools in place to effectively manage cyberattacks. Also, 24% indicated they don’t have contingencies in place to assure prompt responses to threats on weekends and holidays.
A Closer Look at the MDR Mobile App
The Cybereason MDR Mobile App features include:
- Visibility into detections and active MalOps to better understand the scope of an attack and how they align to the MITRE ATT&CK Framework
- Anytime access to dashboards and ability to initiate responses from any mobile device
- Quickly identifying and isolating compromised machines in order to remediate and minimize downtime and workflow disruptions
- Constant contact with the Cybereason Global SOC to immediately address potential threats.
- Remotely initiating response actions with confidence
- Access to reports and industry news to stay abreast of the latest tactics, techniques and procedures used by nation-state threat actors and cybercriminal ransomware gangs
Abigail Maines, Cybereason’s channel vice president in North America, explained the value of the MDR Mobile App for MSPs, MSSPs and more:
“Cybereason’s partner community played a pivotal role in driving this launch because they are passionate about driving differentiated security outcomes for our joint customers. The initial response to the Cybereason MDR Mobile App has been very strong. Cybereason relies heavily on our partner ecosystem to drive innovations in our product roadmap. Overall, the Cybereason MDR Mobile App will be a valued addition for MSPs, MSSPs, GSIs, IRS and VARs because they can bring additional value to their customers for no additional cost.”
The Cybereason MDR Mobile App is available in the Apple App Store, and will be available later in August in the Google Play Store, supporting both Android and iOS devices.
