BlackBerry Unveils Government Security Suite for Voice, Data Encryption
BlackBerry has launched a multi-platform solution that provides government users with end-to-end encryption of voice calls and text messages.
The new release, SecuSUITE for Government, is designed to meet the most stringent needs of governments and regulated industries around the world, according to BlackBerry.
SecuSUITE for Government helps government users safeguard sensitive mobile communications, BlackBerry said in a prepared statement. It delivers secure calls over carrier networks and Wi-Fi, BlackBerry noted, and works across all networks.
In addition, SecuSUITE for Government supports iOS, Android and BlackBerry 10 smartphones and tablets, BlackBerry stated. It also is certified by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) and is listed on both the NIAP Product Compliant List (PCL) and NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified Program (CSfC) List, BlackBerry indicated.
The SecuSUITE for Government release represents one of several recent mobile security moves for BlackBerry.
Last month, BlackBerry upgraded its Enterprise Mobility Suite, adding management policies and controls across iOS, Android, Windows 10, macOS and Samsung Knox devices and various device ownership models, the company said in a prepared statement.
With the enhanced Enterprise Mobility Suite, BlackBerry is better equipped than ever before to drive the growth of the “Enterprise of Things,” the company stated.
BlackBerry Cybersecurity Momentum
BlackBerry revealed global cybersecurity market success in the first quarter of 2017, which is reflected in the company’s quarterly financial results.
Overall, BlackBerry recorded generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) revenue of $235 million and 3,000 enterprise customer orders in Q1 2017, according to the company.
Amid the company’s shift away from smartphone hardware, BlackBerry also is projecting strong growth in software and services in 2018, CEO John Chen said in a company statement.
