CrowdStrike, AWS Blend Cybersecurity and Cloud Disaster Recovery

CrowdStrike has expanded its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The deal blends CrowdStrike's cybersecurity capabilities with AWS disaster recovery capabilities. Roll it all together, and the effort basically involves cyber resilience services.

Indeed, cyber resilience services from Acronis, Datto, OpenText (parent of Webroot and Carbonite) and other MSP-friendly companies essentially integrate security and data protection into a blended solution. The net result strives to drive down cyber incidents, while also protecting data if an incident somehow occurs.

How CrowdStrike and AWS Address Cyber Resilience

Many cyber resilience services involve single-vendor solutions. But CrowdStrike and AWS are partnering up to address the opportunity. The effort involves CrowdStrike Falcon endpoint protection platform and the AWS CloudEndure Disaster Recovery solution to help organizations protect and recover from ransomware incidents. In addition, CrowdStrike's Cloud Security Assessment service delivers insights into security misconfigurations and deviations from recommended cloud security architecture to help organizations prevent, detect and recover from breaches.

Furthermore, CrowdStrike's IAM Analyzer for AWS service has been integrated into the Falcon Horizon cloud security posture management (CSPM) solution, the companies indicated. This ensures that organizations can use CrowdStrike IAM Analyzer for AWS and Falcon Horizon to automatically detect and address identity-based threats.

CrowdStrike also integrates directly with the Distributor capability of AWS Systems Manager, the companies noted. That way, organizations can deploy Distributor packages with embedded Falcon agent software or install the agent via Falcon APIs and run them across multiple operating systems at the same time.

CrowdStrike XDR: What Is eXtended Detection and Response?

The expanded AWS partnership comes after CrowdStrike in October 2021 unveiled a new Falcon eXtended detection and response (XDR) module at its Fal.Con virtual cybersecurity conference.

CrowdStrike's XDR module delivers real-time threat detection and automated response, the company said. The module provides shared telemetry to help security teams identify, contain and remediate cyberattacks.

Organizations can use CrowdStrike's Falcon platform to secure their cloud environments, endpoints and IT operations. They can access threat intelligence to explore ways to stop data breaches as well.

Also, CrowdStrike offers the Elevate Partner Program to MSSPs and other channel partners. Elevate enables channel partners to leverage Falcon to deliver threat detection and remediation solutions to their customers.
