Exabeam, Okta Partnership Blends SIEM, Identity Management

Exabeam, a security information and event management (SIEM) solutions provider, and identity and access management (IAM) software firm Okta have launched a joint security solution to help organizations respond to credential-based cyberattacks.

The Exabeam-Okta joint solution enables security teams to detect, investigate and respond to credential-based attacks in real-time, the companies say. It provides a complete view of security events across an organization, the companies noted, and initiates automated remediation measures where appropriate.

Furthermore, the Exabeam-Okta joint solution coordinates end-to-end threat detection, collection and response in a single integration, the companies said. It also delivers analytics to help security teams identify anomalies and prioritize user-based threats.

It’s a safe bet the companies will further discuss the relationship during the Exabeam Spotlight18 customer and partner conference in September.

Exabeam SIEM Funding, Partnerships

In addition to launching a credential-based security solution in conjunction with Okta, Exabeam this month raised $50 million in Series D funding led by American venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners. Exabeam will use the funding to expand its cloud portfolio, sales and channels and further its global SIEM market growth.

Exabeam ranked first in security and number 12 overall on this year’s Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies. It is on track to more than double its SIEM market size in 2018, the company said, and recorded 250 percent market growth in 2017 and 300 percent growth in 2016.

Exabeam has also made channel partner moves. The company in June launched the Spectrum Program, which enables organizations to deploy its Cloud Connectors and Threat Intelligence Cloud offerings across a range of environments, in a variety of configurations.

Exabeam SIEM Consumption Models

Spectrum uses a per-employee subscription licensing model that provides a flat, predictable annual fee, Exabeam stated. Meanwhile, Spectrum customers can deploy Exabeam solutions via public cloud, hybrid cloud and cloud-to-cloud deployment options, or they can choose a fully managed cloud service from one of Exabeam’s MSSP partners.

Cloud Connectors enables organizations to ingest logs from cloud applications, infrastructure and security products, Exabeam indicated. By doing so, Cloud Connectors helps organizations identify and eliminate cloud security blind spots.

Threat Intelligence Cloud is designed to help organizations evaluate threat indicators in real-time with user and entity activities, according to Exabeam. It is expected to be released in the next 12 months.
