UEBA Firm Gurucul Unveils Managed Security Analytics Service

Gurucul, a fraud analytics platform provider, has introduced the Gurucul Labs managed security analytics service.

Organizations can use Gurucul Labs to discover unknown cyber threats in real-time, according to a prepared statement. They also can leverage the service to speed up response to malicious insiders, unusual usage activity, compromised accounts or hosts, network intrusions, data exfiltration and other threats.

Gurucul Labs is built on the Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) behavior-based security analytics and intelligence platform, the company said. It leverages machine learning algorithms and anomaly model tuning and refinement by data scientists based on intelligence gathered from the Carnegie Mellon University U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness (US-CERT) team and Gurucul's research partners and customers.

Also, Gurucul Labs provides organizations with access to the following security analytics tools:

  • Data Scientist: Reviews data sets and behavior models and provides anomaly model tuning suggestions.
  • Fraud Analyst: Investigates insider and third-party fraud scenarios and suggests response actions.
  • GRA Engineer: Helps organizations implement and manage GRA.
  • Security Analyst: Promotes security threat research, triage of high-risk incidents and other security analyses.
  • Security Architect: Helps organizations maintain their security architecture and validate their security data.

Gurucul Labs is now available for cloud, hybrid and on-premise deployments.

What Is Gurucul?

Gurucul offers user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA), fraud analytics, identity analytics and cloud analytics GRA products. It also provides Gurucul Studio, an integrated component within GRA that allows security teams to create custom machine learning models without coding.

Various government agencies and Fortune 500 companies have deployed GRA. Furthermore, Gurucul provides a partner program that enables MSSPs, systems integrators (SIs) and other solution providers to white-label GRA as a managed service or co-branded service offering.
