Keeper Security Unveils Multi-Cloud Password Rotation Feature

single sign on (SSO) to login other webpage with one username and password vector

The Keeper Security KeeperPAM privileged access management (PAM) solution now offers a password rotation feature.

This feature "allows organizations to securely rotate service accounts and other privileged credentials on demand or on an automated schedule," according to the company.

Research indicates that there are 24 billion passwords available for sale in cycbercriminal marketplaces. By rotating passwords, organizations can limit a password's lifespan. In doing so, they can reduce the time a compromised password is valid and lower their risk of credential-based cyberattacks.

What Password Rotation for KeeperPAM Offers

With Password Rotation, KeeperPAM users can:

  • Automatically rotate credentials for machines, service accounts and user accounts across their infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure Active Directory service accounts, AWS IAM (Amazon Web Services Identity and Access Management) accounts and more
  • Schedule rotations to occur at any time
  • Perform post-rotation actions such as restarting services or running other applications.
  • Store all credentials in the Keeper Vault
  • Control and audit access to credentials
  • Log all actions to Keeper's Advanced Reporting and Alerts Module (ARAM) and third-party security information and event management (SIEM) tools
  • Create compliance reports on shared privileged accounts

Commenting on Password Rotation and how it benefits KeeperPAM users, Keeper co-founder Craig Lurey said:

"Administrative passwords must be updated regularly and automatically to reduce the risk of password-based breaches and cyberattacks. Traditional PAM tools with password rotation capabilities are often expensive and difficult to deploy. This leaves organizations that cannot afford or have never fully deployed those solutions vulnerable. We are excited to help minimize this risk with an affordable, modern and elegant solution that protects every user and every device in an organization."

Password Rotation through KeeperPAM is available through Keeper's web vault, desktop app for Windows/Mac/Linux and the admin console.

Keeper Security Extends Global Reach, Receives Investment

The Password Rotation announcement comes after Keeper in May 2023 opened an Asia-Pacific headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. These headquarters serve organizations in Japan, East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, Keeper secured a "significant minority investment" from growth equity firm Summit Partners in May 2023. The amount of the investment was not disclosed. Keeper will use Summit's investment to drive product innovation and expand its operations, the company noted.

Keeper provides password, secrets and connection management products to thousands of organizations globally. The company offers a partner program for MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers.
