Kroll, which has a Top 250 MSSP business division, has acquired real-time risk intelligence company Crisp for an undisclosed sum. In addition, Crisp CEO Adam Hildreth and Executive Chairman Andrew Burke will join Kroll's digital services leadership team.

This is technology M&A deal number 520 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Crisp bolsters Kroll's digital service capabilities, the companies said. It enables Kroll to provide its customers with the ability to discover and track risk signals in digital chatter.

A Closer Look at Crisp

Crisp protects brands, assets and people against brand reputation damage, security threats and online harm, the company noted. The company uses its Risk Intelligence Graph to help organizations identify and mitigate risk.

The Risk Intelligence Graph detects risk signals in digital chatter, Crisp noted. It classifies these signals and helps organizations predict their severity, prevent their spread and minimize their impact.

In addition, Crisp offers corporate and platform risk intelligence and pharmaceutical social compliance solutions. Crisp does not currently provide a partner program for MSSPs and MSPs.

What Does the Crisp Acquisition Mean for Kroll?

Crisp allows Kroll to expand its risk intelligence solutions, Kroll CEO Jake Silverman said. It enables Kroll to help organizations manage risk across their operations.

Also, the Crisp acquisition comes after Kroll in March 2022 bought risk intelligence technology provider Resolver. Crisp and Resolver together provide Kroll with "huge potential" to enhance its risk intelligence solutions, Burke noted.

Along with Crisp and Resolver, Kroll has acquired Security Compass Advisory, Redscan and RP Digital Security since January 2020. The company may continue to look to acquisitions to further expand its risk intelligence solutions portfolio.
