Alert Logic Cloud-based MDR Gains SOAR Capabilities

Alert Logic has expanded its cloud-based managed detection and response (MDR) platform to support security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) capabilities.

The result: MSPs and security teams can use Alert Logic MDR with Alert Logic Intelligent Response to maintain a "flexible, scalable and integrated approach to protect their entire IT estate," the company asserted.

Admittedly, MDR and SOAR platforms can be complex -- especially for smaller MSPs and SMB customers. To overcome complexity hurdles, Alert Logic plans to deliver a" simplified wizard-based user experience, giving customers the option of easing into automated response, while customizable playbooks are geared to more sophisticated security teams." Exact availability was not disclosed.

In addition, Alert Logic MDR with Alert Logic Intelligent Response can be used in conjunction with Slack, Jira, ServiceNow and other productivity and service management tools for incident response, the company indicated.

Alert Logic Extends Its Channel Market Reach

The Alert Logic MDR with Alert Logic Intelligent Response news comes after the company in September 2021 announced a master distributor agreement with Avant.

Furthermore, Alert Logic in September 2021 introduced two continuous sales performance incentives for new MSP partners and their team members. The incentives allow partner account representatives, sales engineers and account executives to earn financial awards if they close deals or generate opportunities, Alert Logic noted.

Alert Logic grew its MSP pipeline by nearly 150 between September 2020 and September 2021, the company said. It also increased its MSP bookings by 70 percent during this time frame. Still, actual revenue and profit (or loss) dollar figures were note disclosed.

January 2022 will mark one year since Alert Logic changed CEOs and hired multiple Webroot and Carbonite veterans.
