Fortinet now offers its Managed Cloud-Native Firewall Service (FortiGate CNF) on Amazon Web Services (AWS), according to the company. The company announced FortiGate CNF on AWS at the AWS re:Invent 2022 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A Closer Look at ForiGate Firewall

FortiGate CNF provides AWS users with "an enterprise-grade, managed next-generation firewall service," Fortinet said. It is designed for use across cloud networks, availability zones and virtual private clouds (VPCs). The service features a user interface that enables AWS users to define and deploy security policies, supports AWS Gateway Load Balancer, protects Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) environments and improves availability and scaling.

In addition, FortiGate CNF provides AWS users with access to FortiGuard security services, the company said. These services enable AWS users to utilize AI and machine learning models to analyze their organization's security posture and find ways to improve it. That way, they can leverage real-time threat intelligence, behavior-based detection and automated prevention to remediate known and unknown threats.

Fortinet Updates Its SASE Solution

The FortiGate CNF on AWS launch comes after Fortinet in October 2022 added Secure Internet Access to its FortiSASE secure access service edge (SASE) solution. Secure Internet Access ensures FortiSASE users can maintain "consistent security for all user traffic to and from the Internet," the company said.

Along with Secure Internet Access, Fortinet enhanced its support for FortiSASE's Secure Private Access and Secure SaaS Access. It ensures FortiSASE users can leverage a cloud access security broker and inline. API-based support monitors applications and addresess shadow IT and data exfiltration issues, the company noted.

Fortinet offers security solutions to more than 595,000 customers globally. It also provides the Engage partner program, which enables MSSPs and MSPs to use Fortinet's solutions to secure their customers' cloud and on-premises environments.
