Open eXtended detection and response (XDR) specialist Stellar Cyber has debuted a new integration with cybersecurity company Deep Instinct in a move with managed security services providers (MSSPs) in mind.

The integration “makes it easy” for enterprise and MSSP customers using the Stellar Cyber Open XDR platform to deliver Deep Instinct’s prevention capabilities across the entire attack surface, the companies said in a prepared statement.

Detecting 99% of Potential Attacks

Under this latest integration, Deep Instinct’s approach to applying deep learning can continuously analyze endpoints, servers and other network assets to detect and prevent more than 99% of potential attacks, the companies said. At the same time, the Stellar Cyber platform ingests, normalizes and analyzes the Deep Instinct data to identify additional threats throughout the network infrastructure.

Response actions are then sent to Deep Instinct, automatically responding as needed. As Andrew Homer, vice president of Technology Alliances at Stellar Cyber, explained:

“Deep Instinct’s cutting-edge technology adds a new level of automated attack prevention to the Stellar Cyber platform, which is especially important to our MSSP customers focused on reducing SOC analyst workloads. As a result of this new integration with Deep Instinct, Stellar Cyber simply out-delivers EDR-based XDR platforms, with superior prevention, correlation, and response capabilities.”

AI and ML Power Solutions

The combination of Deep Instinct’s deep learning technology with Stellar Cyber’s artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)-based detection and response technologies slash SOC analysts’ workloads and enable them to focus on addressing real threats, the companies said. They also assert that the partnership “delivers more comprehensive cybersecurity protection with much greater efficiency for MSSPs and enterprises that have lean security teams.”

Brian Feeney, vice president of Global Channels & Alliances at Deep Instinct, explained the advantages the partnership offers its customers:

“Integrating with Stellar Cyber gives Deep Instinct customers access to the industry’s leading Open XDR platform for comprehensive analysis, correlation, and response across the entire attack surface. Most prevention products do not consistently detect and prevent threats, while Deep Instinct brings prevention to the forefront.”

More Open XDR Moves From Stellar Cyber

Stellar Cyber now offers its Open XDR platform on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, MSSP Alert reported on October 10, 2022. The addition to Oracle Cloud comes after Stellar Cyber in September 2022 partnered with Ridge Security, a security validation solution provider.

Together, Stellar Cyber and Ridge Security have developed a joint solution that combines security operations management, threat detection and response and automated pentesting, the companies said.
