OT security providers Industrial Defender and FoxGuard Solutions have launched a joint vulnerability management solution for industrial control systems (ICS), according to a prepared statement. The vulnerability management solution is designed to address the vulnerability and patch management needs of operational environments.

The vulnerability management solution consists of Industrial Defender's ASM cybersecurity, compliance and change management solutions for ICS and FoxGuard's patch and vulnerability feeds, the companies said. It lets OT security teams visualize assets that are missing vendor-approved patches or have open vulnerabilities, so they can make smart patching decisions.

How Does the Vulnerability Management Solution Work?

With the vulnerability management solution, ASM gathers software, hardware, firmware and patch levels to share with FoxGuard, the companies indicated. This enables FoxGuard to deliver relevant patch and vulnerability information and ensures OT security teams can use ASM to assess ICS patch and vulnerability exposure.

Furthermore, the vulnerability management solution offers automated asset inventory data collection and real-time vulnerability monitoring, the companies noted. It also provides audit-ready documentation for NERC CIP.

A Closer Look at Industrial Defender and FoxGuard

Industrial Defender enables OT security teams to manage ICS cybersecurity and compliance tasks via a single application. In addition, Industrial Defender provides APIs for integrations with enterprise applications and security tools and turnkey deployments across major control systems vendors.

FoxGuard delivers custom cybersecurity, compliance and industrial computing solutions. It also provides patch management reporting services that offer availability reporting and applicability analysis for OT and IT assets used in critical infrastructure environments.
