Carbon Black, which develops next-generation antivirus and endpoint security products for MSSPs and other types of partners, has appointed former Microsoft executive Victor Gureghian Baez as its vice president of worldwide channels. In this role, Gureghian Baez is expected to help Carbon Black accelerate its channel growth and expand its global footprint, according to a prepared statement.

Gureghian Baez most recently served as senior director of worldwide distribution and channels at Microsoft. He managed Microsoft's global distribution and indirect channels, Carbon Black stated, and helped the company grow its cloud solution provider program.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Gureghian Baez held director roles at Netgear, Belkin and Tech Data. He possesses more than two decades of experience in international channel enablement and growth for large global enterprises, Carbon Black indicated.

Carbon Black Partner Program Initiatives

In addition to the hiring of Gureghian Baez, Carbon Black has made several moves to further extend its channel reach.

Carbon Black last month integrated its CB Response endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution with the IBM Resilient Response Orchestration Platform. With the integration, security operations centers (SOCs) can automate remediation tasks and orchestrate critical incident response activities, Carbon Black noted.

Also, Carbon Black in July appointed Ciara Feeny as its DACH channel manager. Feeny is tasked with helping Carbon Black build its customer and partner base in the EMEA region, the company said in a prepared statement.

Feeny previously spent 12 years at enterprise cybersecurity solutions company Trend Micro. She served as Trend Micro’s distribution sales manager for Germany and held the roles of head of channel and inside sales for international markets, regional sales manager and distribution account manager for Eastern Europe.

Carbon Black and the Channel: Here's What You Need to Know

More than 90 percent of Carbon Black's sales are driven by the channel, the company indicated. Meanwhile, the Carbon Black Connect Partner Program enables MSSPs to deliver the Cb Endpoint Security Platform as a managed security service.

The Carbon Black Connect Partner Program offers a variety of features for MSSPs, including:

  • Joint marketing support.
  • Real-time visibility across multiple systems.
  • Sales and technical support.

To date, Carbon Black has partnered with 75 MSSPs and incident response service providers, the company said. These partnerships have resulted in a combined 340 incident response engagements this year.

Carbon Black today has more than 3,000 customers, including 30 Fortune 100 companies. It also helps manage more than 13 million endpoints globally.
