Cybrary, a cybersecurity workforce development platform provider, has hired Kevin Hanes as its CEO. Hanes will succeed Ryan Corey, who will serve as an advisor to the CEO and continue to serve on Cybrary's board of directors.

Hanes will explore ways to help Cybrary grow, operationalize and expand its platform, so individuals and teams develop their cybersecurity skills, according to a prepared statement. Also, Hanes expects to help Cybrary become "the de facto standard for cybersecurity skill development," he said.

Hanes joins Cybrary from Secureworks, a Top 250 MSSP. There, he served as COO and led the company through an initial public offering (IPO). In addition, Hanes previously held an executive leadership role at Dell Technologies. He has more than 20 years of technology industry experience.

A Closer Look at Cybrary

Cybrary combines cybersecurity courses with real, hands-on learning experiences and guidance from cybersecurity professionals, the company said. In doing so, the company helps individuals and teams gain the skills they need to protect organizations against cyberattacks.

To date, Cybrary has received $23 million in funding, Hanes noted. It also enables more than 3 million learners, small businesses and Fortune 1000 organizations to earn industry certifications and advance their cybersecurity goals, the company asserts.
