Deloitte has acquired Makros, a Chilean cybersecurity consulting business that specializes in perimeter security, cloud security, identity management and more. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This is technology M&A deal number 1,018 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
Deloitte, founded in 1845, is based in London, England. The company has 438,000 employees listed on LinkedIn. Deloitte’s areas of expertise include financial advisory, risk management and tax services — along with its IT consulting operations.
Makros, founded in 2003, has nearly 100 security professionals who support more than 200 customers. The company is based in Providencia, Santiago, Chile.
Key areas of Makros expertise include Information Security and Operational Continuity Solutions — such as Next Gen Anti-Virus, EDR (endpoint detection and response), CASB (cloud access security brokerage), intrusion detection, forensic analysis, perimeter and internal security audits, penetration tests and evaluation of external and internal vulnerabilities and more.
Key Makros technology partners include Sophos, Netskope, Centrify, Viascope, ManageEngine, Faronics, Genians, Qualys, Guardicore, Axonius and Kriptos.
Makros tucks into Deloitte’s Chile-based security operations. That business now has 250 professionals who support customers in Chile and abroad, Deloitte said.
