Flashpoint, a threat intelligence provider, has acquired security automation company CRFT for an undisclosed sum, the companies disclosed this morning. Flashpoint will integrate CRFT's no-code security automation capabilities into its product suite.

With the CRFT acquisition, cyber threat intelligence, fraud and security teams can activate multi-step and multi-system workflows based on Flashpoint's multilingual playbook library, the companies said. These teams also can leverage threat intelligence and security alerts to automate incident response.
Along with its acquisition, Flashpoint has named CRFT co-founder and CTO Austin McDaniel as its chief automation architect. McDaniel is expected to help Flashpoint explore ways to leverage threat intelligence to drive automation.
A Closer Look at CRFT
CRFT offers a cloud-native platform that automates workflows and helps organizations reduce cyber risk, the company indicated. The platform can be used in combination with security tools, cloud services and applications and does not require any software to deploy, scale or maintain.
In addition, CRFT's platform leverages a pay-as-you-go model to ensure that organizations are only billed for what they use, the company said. It also offers a fully featured free tier and fixed price tiers to help organizations scale as needed.
Flashpoint will leverage CRFT to deliver security products that can help cyber threat intelligence, fraud and security teams streamline workflows and trigger actions that mitigate threats automatically, the company said. Furthermore, CRFT could help Flashpoint extend its managed security services market reach.
Previously, Flashpoint announced business risk intelligence (BRI) capabilities that MSSPs can use to provide organizations with context into cyber threats across online communities and open and dark web sources. Flashpoint also offers the Spark Partner Alliance, a partner program that enables MSSPs to incorporate the company's offerings into their portfolios.
