OPSWAT, a critical infrastructure cybersecurity provider, has purchased network access control (NAC) solutions company Impulse for an undisclosed sum. It has acquired Impulse's products and teams as part of the transaction.

OPSWAT will maintain Impulse's office in Tampa, Florida, the companies stated. This office will serve as OPSWAT's East Coast hub and be integrated into the company's global support team.

Meanwhile, the Impulse acquisition enables OPSWAT to deliver an end-to-end NAC solution, the companies said. OPSWAT also has incorporated Impulse Secure Device Access into its MetaAccess endpoint security solution.

What Is MetaAccess?

MetaAccess provides endpoint access to cloud applications, OPSWAT indicated. It confirms that an organization's devices comply with security policies before accessing cloud applications and provides visibility into these applications via a single pane of glass.

Furthermore, MetaAccess works in combination with existing and legacy security solutions or out of the box with single sign-on services. MSSPs also can join OPSWAT's channel partner program to integrate MetaAccess and other OPSWAT security solutions into their portfolios.

A Closer Look at OPSWAT's Security Solutions

In addition to MetaAccess, OPSWAT offers security solutions across a variety of areas, including:

  • Email Security: Secures sensitive data against email attacks.
  • File Upload Security: Guards against malicious file uploads.
  • Malware Analysis: Enables organizations to leverage threat intelligence to analyze malware and prepare for cyberattacks.

OPSWAT also integrated CrowdStrike endpoint protection capabilities into its MetaDefender content security platform earlier this year. The integration enables MetaDefender users to leverage the CrowdStrike Falcon AI engine to gather crowdsourced threat intelligence.
