Perception Point, a prevention-as-a-service provider, has acquired isolated Web security and workspace platform company Hysolate for an undisclosed sum. In addition, Hysolate founder Tal Zamir will join Perception as CTO.

This is technology M&A deal number 309 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Hysolate and Perception Point: Business Backgrounds

Prior to this M&A deal, Hysolate was venture backed. The company raised $10 million in 2020 led by Planven, with participation from existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Innovation Endeavor and Team8, according to CTech.

Meanwhile, Perception Point also is venture-backed. The company in April 202 raised $28 million in Series B funding led by= Red Dot Capital Partners and joined by NGP Capital along with existing investors Pitango Venture Capital and State of Mind Ventures (SOMV).

Fast forward to March 2022, and Hysolate has 49 employees and Perception Point has 88, according to LinkedIn.

With the Hysolate acquisition, Perception adds web security to its suite of advanced threat protection solutions, the buyer indicated. It will use Hysolate's platform to protect organizations against content-based attacks and deliver a security offering that safeguards organizations' emails, cloud storage platforms, cloud applications and customer relationship management (CRM) apps.

Hysolate offers a workspace-as-a-service platform that lets organizations deploy a local isolated workspace on user endpoints and manage it from the cloud, the company said. The platform keeps applications and data separate between a user's host operating system and their Hysolate Workspace. This ensures anything that happens inside of a virtual machine (VM) cannot affect the underlying OS.

MSP and MSSP Partner Programs

Hysolate offers a partner program to system integrators and solution providers around the world, and the company has a multi-tenant console for partners. Meanwhile, Perception Point has a partner program designed for MSPs, MSSPs, VARs and resellers.
